Like serious, my father is a straight man and even HE understands how being called pet names by a stranger is demeaning and inappropriate.

It’s fine if you personally aren’t offended when a stranger calls you a pet name, that’s fine.

But, to say you can’t understand why it would upset anyone and that people should “get the fuck over it…” you are just making yourself sound like a complete jackass.

ok i mean this in the most respectful way possible but you completely made an ass out of yourself in that comment you added referring to condescending pet names. not only is it offensive to men or women who often get called "honey", "sweetie", or "sweetheart" by their lovers by stating these names are often used to address children and are therefore demeaning, but the last comment you added (you are seriously so dumb, fuck) is most CERTAINLY condescending and demeaning, and rather uncalled for.

I think you misunderstood what I was saying? All I meant about it being childish is that usually if you refer to someone who you don’t have that level of intimacy with as honey or sweetie etc its because they are a child. That’s why it’s demeaning to have a stranger call you that. If you are consensually being called something like that, fine. And I’m not obligated to be nice to someone who has said something extremely fucked up and offensive. That’s different than saying something demeaning to someone you don’t even know who has done nothing to provoke it.
